With the latest technological advancements, new gadgets, including mobile phones, PMPs and eReaders, are flooding stores each day like rain-fed rivers. Breaking away from the trend, Toshiba has announced their eReader named the “Biblio Leaf” that will harness solar power to run on green energy. Claimed to be the world’s first solar-powered e-book reader, the new Wi-Fi gadget comes with a 6-inch e-Ink display, 3G connectivity, a stylus for taking notes and 2 GB of memory that can be expanded via microSD Card. Capable of holding up to 3,000 books, the Biblio Leaf includes front-mounted solar panels to charge it even when you don’t have access to a power plug while traveling. Measuring about 8.5 x 5″ (LW) in dimensions, the solar-powered e-book reader will be available next week in Japan with a $20 per month 3G contract.
